Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kou released a report on the upcoming IPhones and stated that the 2021 IPhones to be released by Apple will feature two biometric validation methods . He believes that the IPhones would come with Face ID as well as Touch ID under the hood . It means that Apple would likely come up with in-display fingerprint sensor as we have seen with other android phones .
The Analyst stated that Apple has been filing patents for in-display fingerprint technologies and facial recognition technologies for quite some time and wanted to remove the physical home button . Apple has been working hard to remove the technical snags and enhance the user experience for its users .
The current challenges for Apple to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor include power consumption, size of the sensing area and the production rate for the sensors . The Analyst stated that the issues will likely be addressed by the next year or 2021 . This will clear way for Apple to do some radical changes to the upcoming IPhones .
Apple will likely use Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensors which would enable users to place their finger on a larger part of the bottom of the screen for scanner to detect touch . It would be interesting to see what more can Apple do for their upcoming Iphones .
