Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor of the Redmi 7 tomorrow in India. Xiaomi will hold an event in New Delhi on 9th October to launch its latest budget smartphone, Redmi 8. The company has been releasing teaser shots of the phone and it will come with a bigger battery and an improved camera. The company released Redmi 8A and the phone was priced in at Rs 6,499.

Xiaomi VP, Manu Kumar Jain released a video that teased the capabilities of the Redmi 8. Redmi 8 will be splash and scratch-resistant. The device will also likely with Gorilla Glass 5 and Splash Proof Coating. The device will also come with a dual-camera setup and a bigger battery than the Redmi 7.
The phone will likely be powered by Snapdragon 439. The device will also likely come in two storage variants: 3 GB +32 GB Internal storage and 4 GB + 64 GB Internal storage. The device will also with fingerprint sensor and Fast Charging support.

Xiaomi has been facing increasing competition from brands such as Realme, Samsung and Vivo. The pricing would be key for Xiaomi to sell out many devices of the Redmi 8. Recently, the Company sold about 3.8 million smartphones in a 7 day period which was a new record for itself.
