Xiaomi India tweeted on Tuesday that it is partnering with MediaTek to launch its gaming smartphone soon . MediaTek launched two new chipsets Helio G90 and G90T today and they got their first partner in Xiaomi . This would be the first time that Xiaomi would launch a smartphone exclusive for gaming and particularly focus on getting hardcore gamers on board .
The MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T come with HyperEngine game technology which focusses on smooth gaming experience and minimum to no hickups while playing high end games . MediaTek claims that G90 and G90T are 10 percent faster than the Snapdragon 730G and 9 percent faster than Snapdragon 730 . Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi K20 which was powered by Snapdragon 730 and was launched at Rs 21,999 . This means that the gaming smartphone might be priced at probably at more than Rs 20k .
A lot of brands are eyeing the gaming space to explore more and foray into new acquistion of users . Asus recently announced the ROG Phone 2 with insane gaming specs and great customisation options for gamers . Xiaomi has played the Indian market pretty well and managed to become one of the most sought after brands in the industry . Therefore it would be interesting to see how long does Xiaomi take to launch this phone and what will be the price for the device .
